Before selling to focus on Ballard, Inc., Kory founded and built his own lawn and landscape company, Perficut, to be a Top 100 company with 3 locations across the state of Iowa. Sam started working alongside his parents in the mowing industry at 10 years old. After he started professionally mowing lawns in 2012, he became the leading mowing company in Ankeny, IA. In 2014, James & Liam founded Yard Dawgs, out of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. These best friends originally started the business as just a part time aeration gig to help pay off their college tuition. Since then, they have turned it into a 5 million dollar fertilization and aeration company that simply offers 3 different lawn packages – the Pomeranian, the Golden Retriever, and the St. Bernard. Founded and owned by Kory Ballard and his wife, Lindsay, Ballard Inc. offers advanced lawn care accessories for outdoor professionals. Ballard Inc. was started in 2000, with Kory creating the Easy Gate as his first product and patent. From there they’ve grown the business to multiple 7 figures of annual revenue, and have over 400 products and skus on their website. ETCH Outdoor Living
Founded and owned by Sam Rankin, ETCH opened in 2018 and was quickly established as Ankeny, IA’s leading landscape company, coming in at 6.1 million in revenue. ETCH offers design and construction, irrigation, fertilization, maintenance, holiday lights, and snow removal. ETCH’s new shop was just built and completed in May 2024. While you are not required to book this hotel to attend our event, the conference room for our meeting all three days is located in this hotel, as well as the location for charter bus pickup for the shop tours, and the networking dinner & cocktail hour. It has several restaurants and bars onsite, as well as a gym, pool, casino, and of course, the horse race track! Make sure to book your room by July 29, 2024 and only book for the nights you are staying. You can still book a room at the hotel after this deadline if you need to, but you will not receive the discounted group rate.
